Oftentimes with novellas, authors provide bonus content that is unessential to the plot and are overall just an ok read. Even though this is short story told from Aiden’s perspective (instead of Alex), I enjoyed it just as much as the other novels. I will have a deeper understanding of how he copes with insurmountable stress, I already know how he feels about Alex. Since that book will be from Alexandria's point of view I think I will be thinking of how Aiden is dealing with everything in that book. Or is there a third option, one that doesn't make him hate himself, but might be more difficult to achieve.Įlixir was a nice little in-between story leading up to Apollyon. Aiden had to make a choice between two evils that Alex was always afraid of happening. But thankfully Apollo gave him a pass.Įlixir shows Aiden's struggle to help Alex block her connection to Seth, which was not easy since she didn't know she wanted to do just that. I was most afraid for him when he would lose it on Apollo. He was completely on edge, and would snap at anyone who was not on Alex's side. What Aiden had to deal with, seeing Alex lost in her all consuming connection to Seth, something she feared and not being able to help her brought out a rage filled side to Aiden. Aiden was still Aiden, sweet, caring, responsible and lets not forget bad-ass. I really liked it, I not only got to hear from Aiden's perspective but I got to see a different side of him. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.Elixir is Aiden's point of view of the events that took place right after Alexandria awakened and connected to the First(Seth). There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.įinding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer.
